Trial Attorney

Nelson E. Báez, Esq. PhotoNelson E. Báez is a Spanish-speaking attorney who focuses his practice on helping victims injured in car, bicycle, motorcycle and trucking accidents as well as wrongful death and premises liability cases.

As a prosecutor, Nelson obtained guilty verdicts against defendants charged with DUI Manslaughter, Home Invasion Robbery with a Firearm, and Attempted First Degree Murder, amongst many other crimes.

As a personal injury lawyer Nelson has recovered millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for his clients.

Nelson is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, which is one of the most prestigious peer review ratings an attorney can receive. This rating considers an attorney’s ability and ethics, as well as the confidential opinions of members of the bar and judiciary. This honor is only bestowed on lawyers who exemplify extraordinary legal proficiency and adhere to a strict code of ethics. Since 2018, Nelson has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star. This designation is limited to no more than 2.5% of attorneys in Florida. Additionally, Nelson has been recognized by the National Trial Lawyers as a Top 40 under 40 since 2016. As a prosecutor, Nelson was recognized in 2012 with the Distinguished Service Award for Prosecution from the Traffic Safety Committee of Palm Beach and 2011 as County Court Prosecutor of the Year.

Nelson’s parents were born and raised in Puerto Rico. His family is deeply rooted in the practice of law on the island, highlighted by his grandfather (and mentor) who was an attorney for over 50 years in Aguadilla, and his great-grandfather who was a judge in Mayaguez. As a native Spanish speaker, Nelson has always sought opportunities to use his language skills. In law school, he interned at the law office of Moreno & de la Torre Abogados in Grenada Spain. In Palm Beach County, he serves on the board of the Guatemalan Mayan Center and is a past President of the Palm Beach County Hispanic Bar Association. As a Spanish speaker, Nelson can assist his Hispanic clients to understand and navigate their personal injury cases in their own language.
